Hi there! I’m Mark—a quiz question writer, assistant producer, researcher, presenter, and pop culture enthusiast. You may have seen my work on iconic TV quiz shows like Wheel of Fortune (Whisper/ITV), Jeopardy! (UK & Australia) (Whisper/ITV), and Alan Carr's Picture Slam (Objective Media Group/BBC).
I’ve been fortunate to contribute to an array of hit shows, including The Tournament (BBC/QITV), Tipping Point (ITV/RDF), Bridge of Lies (BBC/STV Studios), Fastest Finger First (ITV/Stellify), Riddiculous (ITV/Whisper North), The Finish Line (BBC/Potato) and Lightning (BBC/Nice One/Fizz)
Beyond writing, I’m the creator and host of the popular YouTube channel Big Nerd Pub Quiz, where I channel my love of trivia and entertainment into fun, interactive content. I’ve also contributed to blogs, radio, podcasts, and TV, covering topics like sci-fi, music, and all things nerd culture.
My work has brought me to BBC News, BBC Radio Ulster, BBC Radio Scotland, Sky One, and RTE Radio 1. And for a bit of fun trivia: I was a contestant on the Sky One reality game show King of the Nerds in 2015!
Outside the world of quizzes, I’m a passionate musician. I founded the Belfast Ukulele Jam and serve as a regular MC at London’s Ukulele Wednesday Club aboard the Tamesis Dock.
