Behind the Scenes working in TV
One of the things I love most about working in television is being on set and seeing how these shows actually come together. Over the last few years, I’ve been lucky enough to work on brilliant productions including The Finish Line, Alan Carr’s Picture Slam, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, Tipping Point and Riddiculous, across studios and production offices all over the UK.
Whether it’s question writing, research, gallery support, cue cards, verification, score checking or just being part of the general madness of a studio day, there’s nothing quite like seeing a show being built around you. The lights, the set, the audience, the presenters, the contestants, the floor team, the gallery, the producers, the runners, the crew, everyone has their bit to do, and somehow it all turns into telly.
These are some of my behind-the-scenes and crew photos from a few of those shows. They’re a lovely reminder of the brilliant production teams, presenters, talent and crews I’ve had the chance to work with, and of all the long days, daft jokes, quick fixes and small moments that never make it to screen but make the job what it is.
